review 1: 3/5I was caught between 3 or 4 stars. In the end I opted for a firm and solid 3. Characterisation: respectable, never too rushed. It unwound itself gracefully, no complaints here. Though, I'd have liked to have got a little more about the hurt and raw pain Kevin must have been passing through, given how his world had so spectacularly unravelled for the worse.Plot: pretty guessable. It is middle of the road, standard gay angel romance. I don't have any problem with this, you know what you are getting when purchasing it. I liked it, in fact the comfort of being able to predict the plot trajectory was a principle reason for my reading this in the first place. Sometimes you want a warm, fuzzy and soothing romance without unexpected drama (though expected drama and lots of it i... mores awesome-sauce!)Prose: respectable. Nothing overly spectacular, but clear a writer happy to manipulate the language to get the emotions across the page to the reader. Well worth a read, if like me you are a M/M romance slut.
review 2: It started out as a sweet story but after a while became way too sweet for my taste. I had mixed feelings about Sebastian. He was the perfect little angel, beautiful and caring, but sometimes his behavior seemed childish, almost cartoonish to me. (e.g. "He clamped his small hand over his mouth and looked at Kevin with wide eyes.") And he cried a bit too much. Not the type of character I like to read about but I'm sure others will find him adorable. less
