Ten below, winds whip Blowing snow from winter mounds Frozen, not silent
Gentle flakes kill spring Even optimists are tired Damned Polar Vortex
Escape from winter Margaritas and heat lamps Sunny beach dreaming
Hummingbirds don’t know the chickadees’ sorrow, here Extreme cold nests death

I wrote this series of haiku poems about the seemingly endless winter of 2013-14, but it applies to other winters past, present and future. This winter is a cold one, as I publish it for the first time on my Pots & Pens With Beth website for January of 2018 :
