review 1: Just thinking about this book makes me smile.Ciel Halligan is an aura adaptor. It means that she can "borrow" other people's appearance, smell, and other physical features. Of course, she isn't the only one : her family and family's friends all share the same talent. But Ciel made it her job.She "helps" the clients settle their problems by slipping into their lives. Currently, she is working on an easy case : her client wants her to get a marriage proposal. Pre-paid holidays with a hottie, yay !Only issue... The hottie in question was abducted. By modern day Vikings. And who is working on his case ? Oh, just Mark her brother's best friend and her crush since... forever. He works with Billy, her own man-whore best friend, who is going to tease her to death. They are both ov... moreerprotective and spend their time watching her.That case is going to get rough for Ciel. She risks to have her emotions involved in a surprising way.This book was so much fun ! I don't care about the review complaining about the main character's immaturity. It was a good book ! The case was interesting, although a little "easy".But there were surprises, and I love surprises. I also love when a character decides to participate in a case, even if it is risky.And I totally am team Billy. Mark sucks ! ;-)
review 2: It never fails to amaze me when I start off a review by saying, "I can't believe I like this book as much as I do". I mean seriously. This book is silly. The premise is silly, the main character is silly, and the thought of Neo-Vikings in Sweden pushing roids through male body wash... Well you get the picture. But if you take this book with a grain of salt I think you will enjoy it. Mind you I'm not one for love triangles. And I can't stand the whole cuz not cuz thing. (You'll understand when you read it) Bt I did generally like the characters. I especially liked Billy. I liked that they were Chameleons (or Adapters if you prefer). I'm iffy on how I feel about Mark, but I can tell you I'm not much on the chest thumping kinda guys.At any rate, enjoy for what it is. A fun story that doesn't take itself to serious. I mean come on, how many books has the heroine saving the day by stealing a shit slinging truck. ;)3 stars less
