review 1: Enjoyed this book but not as much as the others in the series. Liked getting to know more about each character and the family. Not much plot to this one. Love story and in this one guy if fearful of commitment due to past tragedy in his life. Will continue to read more about this family. Like the way Linda Lael Miller writes. Even a rather weak story, she can drawn the reader in and want you to read more.
review 2: Two Stone Creek stories in one book; contemporary Western romance.A Stone Creek Christmas is about a lady veterinarian Olivia O'Ballivan who can read (and communicate) with animals which comes in handy when treating them medically, but not so convenient when any animal in the area is in trouble and harasses Olivia until she comes to help them. The
... more hero in this story is an architect Tanner Quinn who is town for the year that will take to build the new animal shelter that Olivia will be running. Tanner has a twelve-year-old daughter, Sophie who is away at an elite boarding school in Connecticut which is far away from him and their horses. The animal whisperer thing threw me off because I generally don't like to read 'paranormal' romances, but it isn't a huge distraction from the story. Well it lowered the story to 2 stars. At Home In Stone Creek is Miss Ashley O'Ballivan love story, Ashley is part of the twin sisters of Olivia from the previous story. Miss Ashley has the cute town's bed-and-breakfast and should have been born in the Victorian era then the modern one because she is isn't very 'tech' savvy, although she is very smart and nurturing. Jack McCall is an ex-military bodyguard type who falls for the wonderful Ashley. Cute, but predictable well written story.448 pages for two stories in one book2 and half stars less

This is a pretty good book. Two stories that pair really well together.

An easy, light, quick read. Sometimes I just need a superficial story.
