review 1: I loved this book! It taught me so much about the condition of Autism and even though I don't have Autism myself, I discovered that I have several of the conditions to some extent myself. I will in the future be much more understanding of those who deal with it on a daily basis. The book is written with compassion and love and is a "good read" in addition to the knowledge it provides to the reader. I have already shared parts of it with friends. A family is torn apart when a much anticipated child shows signs of the condition at an early age. Anthony never develops speech and has to communicate in his own way. He hates to be touched and will not make eye contact, but he is able,(even after his early death) to teach others, his mother in particular, that his life had m... moreeaning and purpose. In the end she finds peace and acceptance when she looks back on those precious memories of her short years with a very unique and special being.
review 2: I was kind of on the fence about this book - I teetered on whether or not I really like it or felt that it was OK... and in the end I'd say that I really did end up liking it, it gave me a nice warm feeling.I know very little about autism,t he struggles and joys of having a child with it - so, it was a great book to read and learn about the disorder and have a new appreciation and understanding of it. less

An all-to-common premise, at times, difficult to read.
