review 1: The romantic story of Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas is near perfection. The main character, Lucy, gets dumped by her boyfriend and finds a new and exciting man, Sam Nolan. Sam is perfect except for one flaw, fear of commitment, thanks to his late, alcoholic parents. The plot twists though few and far between are so good they leave you wanting more. I'm a very slow reader, it practically takes me months to finish a book, yet this one I read cover-to-cover in three nights. I recommend this novel to any female and even some feminine males.
review 2: Glass Artist Lucy Marrin doesn't know where to turn. Her boyfriend of two years has just dumped her. To top it off, he has left her for her younger sister, Alice. While mulling over her options, Lucy meets Sam Nolan.
... moreSam is interested in getting to know Lucy a little better. But he makes it clear that any relationship with him will be commitment free. He has an aversion to marriage after seeing his alcoholic parents marriage problems. Lucy doesn't want another relationship, but soon finds herself drawn to Sam and his family.I really liked the characters in this book. Lucy has been hurt over and over again by her sister and parents. She needs someone she can trust who will stand up for her. Sam came from a dysfunctional family and doesn't think marriage is something that will work for him. He soon changes his mind after falling for Lucy. We get to see the characters from the previous book in the series, and also meet two cousins who will figure into future books. The only thing that didn't really work for me was the magical elements in the story. It felt out of place to me. I deducted half a point for it. My rating: 4.5 Stars. less

Very good story of magic, glass, breakups, family dynamics and a hot, geeky vintner.
