review 1: I have to admit this one was a bit of a letdown though still an enjoyable read. Overall I could almost copy and past my last review since its pretty much the same book with slight character/plot tweaks but strangely that didnt bother me. The majority of the things i liked in the last one were present here but the sex scenes were still godawful and completely defiant of the laws of physiology. The one thing that really disappointed me about this book though was the characters who had so much potential to have quite a bit of depth...didnt. I mean harry alone shouldve had enough trauma to be interesting enough for the whole book but it was just skimmed along like it didnt matter at all. And while im not saying it shouldve been the focus of the book his trauma deserved more th... morean a passing mention. Probably because of this lack of depth his character didnt speak to me like sam's did. Also the balance of romance to suspense which was just barely done well in the last book tipped way too much toward thriller in this one sorely neglecting the romance which felt like almost an afterthought. Im gonna read the next one because its presumably the last one (so might as well) and the epilogue left me curious but im skeptical about its appeal. I enjoyed reading this one but it was a bummer to be disappointed after enjoying the first one so much.
review 2: The world knows her only as Eve. . . .Though her songs have sold millions she is an enigma, a bewitching mystery. But to former Delta Force operator Harry Bolt, she is an angel whose sultry, smoky voice brought him back to life after the nightmare of Afghanistan. Nothing else matters. And now a scared, helpless beauty has walked through the door of his San Diego private security firm, running from something secret, something deadly . . . and Harry knows immediately that this is the woman who saved him. He is the last hope for this intoxicating siren without a past--not even in his hottest dreams did he imagine that the lady Eve could be so tempting, so achingly desirable. But though she burns to lose herself in Harry's powerful arms, Eve is wary of trusting this tough, haunted ex-soldier who promises to protect her. Surrender could mean sweet ecstasy or certain doom. Can she open her heart, even if it means risking her life? This was another fun and easy read. Again, I like more detail. less
