review 1: This was the first of Miscione Unger's novels that I have read. It was well done and, in my opinion, as much a romance as a thriller. The plot, a serial killer is pursued by the female author of true crime articles and her friend, a former FBI agent turned PI with the assistance of the local Police Chief who, because of them, had been forced to resign from a previous position, held the reader's interest. The characters' interaction was well done and all in all, it was an interesting read.
review 2: 3.5 stars for Angel Fire. I really enjoyed the detail of the scenery and characterizations in this novel. My family lived in New Mexico for four years, but we never made it up to the Santa Fe or Angel Fire areas. It was kind of a trip down memory lane nonethele... moress because of Unger's ability to paint a scene. The actual plot line itself wasn't bad, but it didn't have the same feel as say an M. R. Sellar's book on murder. It was an enjoyable read and I may check out more of the author's work. less
