Bloodline (Seasons 1-3) Review- Jordan

Do yourself a favor and skip season 3.

Bloodline is a Netflix original series following a family in the Florida Keys who must make choices regarding the black sheep of the family and how they handle the consequences of those choices.

I really enjoyed the first 2 seasons of this series. Netflix has some great series out there, and, for the most part, this is no exception. There is a ton of mystery, particularly in the first season. It always had me wanting to click on the next episode to see what happens. There is some top notch acting in here, with Kyle Chandler and Ben Mendelsohn leading the way. I would say this is probably Chandler’s best work that I’ve seen. The show takes a ton of twists and turns, most of which I didn’t see coming. All of the characters are developed really well throughout all 3 seasons.

Now let’s talk about that 3rd season, because it is by far the worst of the series. It takes a weird turn and I had no idea what was going on by the end of it. The first few episodes of the season are actually really good, but then it falls off the rails. I don’t think it ends very well either. You can stop after the 2nd season and still get about the same kind of ending. There isn’t a whole lot I didn’t like about the first 2 seasons. Some characters have kind of sudden shifts in their personalities that don’t completely work for me. A lot of the episodes are a little slower and are just set up for future episodes. But, if you can get through that, there is a lot to like.

Overall, Bloodline is another solid Netflix series. Not everyone will love it, but others will definitely want to binge it. The third season takes away from the overall score, but Bloodline still gets a decent 3.75/5.
