review 1: DNF..I could not distinguish one main character from the other. I don't know what they look like and they didn't have individual voices. There were no descriptors, no setting the scene, just a lot of really immature dialogue. For supposed professional law enforcement officers they acted like hormonal 12 year olds. Just an excuse for pages and pages of sex. It read like bad fanfiction. Unfortunately I had purchased this and its sequel together as the reviews were very positive. I skimmed the second novel.
review 2: 3.5 rounded up. This was picked for me by Lovebunny for a challenge and I really enjoyed it overall. It was hard keeping the characters from Laurel Heights straight as we didn't get much personality from any of them so they all kind of mixed together
... more. I even struggled to remember which girl partner belonged to which MC. But none of that really mattered in the scheme of things, it just slowed down the pace of reading.I had a little annoyance with some of the internal monolgue with the MC's. Some of it was a little too flouncy for me. I did however enjoy the mystery and the 2 MC's dancing around eachother. Can't wait to read book 2. The plot thickens! less

I love undercover police stories. This was a great book with a sweet romance. Loved it.

One of the best books I have ever read. Now I am wishing there were a sequel.

364 page 4 star wonder, decimated by a 4 page epilogue.
