review 1: This was a disturbing book. Even though the violence against the protagonist is handled in the most non-graphic way possible, the reality of the abuse against her is undeniable and horrific. The exploration of the protagonists' multiple personalities is fascinating and fairly realistic, as far as I can tell. However, the treatment period is so accelerated that the healing feels "too easy" in comparison to the gravity of the trauma she suffered. Thus the book loses some of the power it could have.
