review 1: This was a disturbing book. Even though the violence against the protagonist is handled in the most non-graphic way possible, the reality of the abuse against her is undeniable and horrific. The exploration of the protagonists' multiple personalities is fascinating and fairly realistic, as far as I can tell. However, the treatment period is so accelerated that the healing feels "too easy" in comparison to the gravity of the trauma she suffered. Thus the book loses some of the power it could have.
review 2: I liked the concept of the book, it was just a little too easy to predict what was going to happen. That is the only reason I gave it 3 stars. It could have held a little more substance. I felt the ending was ridiculous, and the interaction with her parents w... moreas not realistic. No one sticks their kid in school after two days of being home after a three year absence. The best parts of the books had to do with her battle within herself to figure out what happened. less
