review 1: Warning! Spoilers ahead! This started out as a very promising read, but gradually the plot became less and less convincing: A medical examination that does not reveal that Angela has been pregnant? No media attention when she comes back to school? School staff not taking action when her former friends bully her? The quick "solution" to the problem with uncle Bill, and last but not least; Angela discovering that her neighbours' adopted son is her own baby. The three stars are for the very good start of the book.
review 2: Authors & readers, take note: THIS is how you do a good story about DID. This is a heartbreaking but ACCURATE look at a protagonist who has dissociative identity disorder, this is the story that should be told about trauma and violence TOWARDS
... more the individual who has a mental illness rather than perpetrated by them. Thank you for doing your research and telling the accurate story, Liz Coley. It's the only fictional account of DID I've read that has bothered doing so, rather than co-opting peoples' real struggles for a conveniently easy murder mystery. less
