review 1: This is a pretty good book and a wonderful who done it book. When witches are being hunted down and their hearts removed it is up to them to find out who is doing the treacherous deed. The cops are useless as far as this crime is concerned because they refuse to acknowledge the fact that witches are real. When one witch gets to close to the truth it may be the end of her unless a miracle can happen.
review 2: Witch Heartsby Liz C. LongIndependently Published, 2013ISBN: 1482782324Courtney, a witch, carried protection potions with her at all times. This did not help her when a very powerful, black witch kidnaps and murders her. The ritual that killed her involved removing her heart. She was not the first witch to die in this way. Two others before her were ki
... morelled in the same manner. Cooper, Courtney's brother, returned to town to avenge his sister's death. His past arrived with him, as his black magic history catches up to him. He must not only stay away from his past, but also protect his sister's best friend, Ruby.Ruby is a very powerful witch with her own history. Her life turned upside down with the murder of her friend. She also vowed to avenge Courtney. She and Cooper joined with her old coven to protect the women of the coven since women are the killer's targets. First, Ruby has to deal with her emotions regarding the coven's High Priest and her former lover, Michael. Second, Cooper moved in with Ruby to keep her safe after the killer announced that she was his target. Third, she must help Cooper avoid the worst of his past. This novel is complete with magic, ritual, and a love triangle. It is unique in that solving the crime involves teaching the police a little bit about magic, which is not included in their reports. I recommend this novel to any adult who enjoys a good thriller/mystery. There are a few typos in the print, but they do not take away from the story. I did have to read a couple of sentences more than once to get their meaning. There is some violence, blood, and guts. I hope to soon read Liz Long's other novels.reviewed byMichele Rice Carpenter less

Meh. Predictable and at times, cheesy. At least it was free.
