Happy Friday, and happy December!
It’s hard to believe we’re nearing the end of 2017 already, but here we are at the beginning of December. I hope you all had a fantastic week and a good and restful weekend ahead of you. For me, this week was a bit crazy – I had a big project due along with some other assignments, but now that that’s past, I’m looking forward to doing some fun things this weekend.
I didn’t have time to write a normal Monday post this week, so instead I wrote about five things that motivated me to get through this week. If you’re feeling discouraged at all, I recommend taking a few minutes to think about things that can encourage you right now – it helps a lot!

In School… I only have one more week of classes before final exams, and that’s a bit of a scary thought. Fortunately, I shouldn’t have too much to worry about with exams, and by now, most of my other major assignments are out of the way. I finally finished my group project for my marketing class, which is a relief, and aside from that, my other classes are going well, too. We’re coming down the home stretch!
Writing… nothing! NaNoWriMo ended yesterday, and so I’m taking a break from my NaNo novel. I reached 50k words on Tuesday and finished out the competition by writing a few hundred words on Wednesday and Thursday, which brought my total to 52,065 words. My story is nowhere near complete, but I think after a break I’ll be able to re-evaluate it and figure out where to go from here.
Reading… a Pride & Prejudice graphic novel adaptation. I finished Rose Under Fire yesterday, and it was absolutely amazing. It’s been a while since I read something that really interested me that much, and it was so nice to be able to do that. This graphic novel I’m reading now shouldn’t take me more than a day to read, but adapting a classic novel into such a modern book format intrigued me, and it’s pretty interesting so far.
Watching… Runaways on Hulu. It’s a TV show adaptation of a Marvel comics series that I started reading a while ago, but I wasn’t able to finish it. I watched the first episode last night, and it seems like a great show so far!
Feeling… Better than I have been, which is a nice improvement! I’ve been feeling more myself lately, which is great.
Looking Forward to… a movie night with my friends tonight, and a Christmas party in my dorm tomorrow. It should be a fun weekend!
Thankful for… the music I love, my new mug (see my Monday post), fuzzy slippers, going to the gym again, winning NaNoWriMo, peppermint hot chocolate, and spending time with my dad yesterday.
How was your week? Any exciting plans for the weekend? Let me know in the comments! See you Monday! Advertisements Share this:
