A Dead Sister Talking Mystery
review 1: The mystery was well-constructed. Lipperman slipped past me a couple of times, so kudos for that. I thought Tessa was horrible - corporeally and spiritually. And she wasn't funny, cracking wise at the expense of ... well, people who probably deserved it ... a bit AND were unable to hear her. If you're gonna dis someone, have the nerve to do it to their face. But, Mother of Mercy, please please please someone write a love scene where the couple fumbles a lot. The first time anyone makes love to someone new, it's a mess where you clunk heads, fall off the bed, etc. I realize that perfect lovemaking and simultaneous orgasms are a Romance convention, but keep it out of my mysteries, okay? Makes the whole thing look silly ... okay, sillier.Lainey (I really shouldn't complain abo... moreut characters' lame names when I call myself an odd name) returns to Texas for her least favorite sister's funeral only to discover that Tessa was murdered and wants Lainey to discover her killer. Tessa shows up at the worst times, making Lainey jump. Even "worser" is that the Sheriff is Tessa's ex, Lainey's childhood crush, and AND still extremely handsome. Comedy ensues.
review 2: Lizbeth Lipperman has a way with words. The snarky ghost has a way better way with words.. in fact she's even snarkier then I am, and that's saying something. I am so glad the author sent me this book to read. I spent most of today finishing it off and was shocked as I started to understand just how snarled the twists and turns were in the plot. So much so that I had a hard time trying to figure out the "who dunnit" before I reached the end of the book. I have more to say but it will have to wait till Monday. Have a great Memorial Day every one. less

Mediocre at best. Didn't care for the main characters who weren't very likable.
