The Vampire Diaries: The Hunters
review 1: I don’t know why they didn’t want to let L.J. Smith write the books in these series. Her books are better written than the books in these series by this ghost writer. This is an ok book, not very special. Damon being the bad boy turned good again, is a story which happened before. The security to let him stay good at the end is a bit strange to me. Also the coming back of all those bad guys from the past are a bit, I don’t know. Couldn’t they think of something new?The past from Elena’s mum and Kathrine playing a part in it, was a surprise though.
review 2: I am Damon Salvatore by name. No, unlike many who go by this name online, I am -not- a roleplayer. I don't delude myself with fantasies of grandeur. For a stint of, lets just say more decades than w
... morehen the original Vampire Diaries were published in 1991, I have had this name. That is why I have followed the series closely.Well, I can safely say that it has been more than annoying to read a copy that I did not purchase myself, but borrowed from an acquaintance. I will never support Alloy Entertainment for anything, and I intend to spread the word for whomever will hear me that they terminated a much keener mind such as "LJ". But I'm sure that if any of us knew how simpleminded this ghostwriter would be, we would not have allowed this to happen.First thing's first: you do not add "+ing" to everything. "I don't want to falling" is not an apt phrase, it's a phrase made by the semi-illiterate. Of course the ghostwriter isn't semi-illiterate since she seemed well versed with other aspects of the English language, but she at least seemed autistic. This mistake was not made only once, it was made to the point that I wanted to light my associate's book on fire. Whomever the editor was, they were NOT doing their job. You are supposed to check an entire story for grammatical deficiency before publishing a book to millions of buyers. The entire series after LJ Smith stopped writing (stopped being allowed to write) should have been checked. Now, on to a couple facts. FACT: Vampires from the previous series never turned to ash upon death. This was evidenced by Katherine's deception with an ash death, when what was supposed to happen was she would merely die as a corpse of the age she would be if she had been human. I won't spoil it, but I recommend you turn your attention to the end of Chapter 38 of Destiny Rising. What a complete and utter lack of attention! And the vervain: Stefan plucked it himself in the original books. If it was so poisonous and discomforting, he would have never been able to. It's original and only purpose is to prevent Power from influencing the user's mind. There are so many other inconsistencies that I have noticed, but that others have covered both in reviews and within comments on LJ's website. These disparities in contrast to the original stories have been amusing at best, merely mistakes made by a duller mind. Alas that is what we have to put up with when one channel is terminated and another has to be used. But I believe I have expressed enough how disappointed I am. That will be all.Con affetto, i miei tifoseDamon Salvatore less
