review 1: I enjoyed this debut book by Christensen. The humor was quirky and made me laugh out loud at times. The world building was handled effectively, just enough to lure you in in the opening chapters, keeping the pace moving, and although it slowed at the midpoint I wasn't bored as the detailing of the dragon world was necessary to carry the suspense through to that final and lovely ending. A job well done. I'd definitely read more from this author. review 2: This enjoyable novella is the kick-off for a new fantasy/romance series that could have a lot of potential. There are a few places where the phrasing is a bit awkward and I had to reread those bits a few times to make sure I was reading it right, but that's minor. For a novella there is a good deal of action an... mored scene changes which is fun and made the story feel more fleshed out. The ending is both settled for the main plot, and open-ended for other plot lines started in the novella. I definitely would like to read the next installment. less
