review 1: I agree with a lot of reviews saying that this book was hard to get through. I'm not entirely sure if it was the book, or if the subject matter was just not my style. The writing itself wasn't all that bad, so I would actually be really curious to see what some of this author's other books are like because I may very well like those. Slow book, one that I put down on numerous occasions to read something else instead.
review 2: I adore Lorna Landvik's books, as a rule. And I am not one to say that an author has to follow the same formula all the time or I won't enjoy his/her work. I also wouldn't say that I didn't enjoy this book. However, it is different. While reading, I kept getting the feeling that I was reading someone's creative writing class assignment.
