review 1: This is an ok read with some odd ideas about England from an American writer - we smoke camel no 9 cigarettes and drive town cars and apparently starkers means bonkers. A ripping if naive yarn with huge plot holes, larger than life stereotypes (a kind of poor mans Maltese falcon) However it intrigued me enough to research the historical figure it features throughout - Thomas Harriet and that was a fascinating journey which led me to feeling much more generous in my review than the book probably deserves

man i thought this book was going to end and then it kept on going and going and goin. not cool

Fun book and always fun to learn some things about Sir Walter Raleigh....I quite enjoyed it.
