review 1: L.P. Dover's Gloves Off series has become one of my guilty pleasures. Have laundry to do? I'm reading about Tyler kicking Kyle's butt while folding socks. Time to go to the gym? I'm pedaling away on the bike while Ashleigh is begging Ryley to take her back. I literally can't put these books down! There are plenty of fighter books out there but this series sucked me in straight away with its hot covers, sexy characters and intriguing story lines.We first met Ryley and Ashleigh in A Fighter's Desire where they had a short lived, but very hot, relationship. Things were going along great until the man Ashleigh had been in love with forever decides he feels the same about her so she leaves Ryley for him. That "him" being Colin who is the star pitcher for their college baseball ... moreteam. In Tyler's Undoing Ryley and Ashleigh cross paths again when she has a pregnancy scare courtesy of the one not so responsible night she had with Ryley in his pool when they were dating. But it turns out that it was a false alarm so she and Ryley keep on going their separate ways. But in Ryley's Revenge Ashleigh realizes that she is in love with Ryley and made a mistake by walking away from him. She doesn't want to play it safe with Colin any longer so she breaks up with him, leaves college and heads to Colorado to spend time with her family. And while she is there she finds out something that is going to not only change her life but Ryley's as well.So Ashleigh decides to return home to come back to Ryley, but she finds that she has her work cut out for her. Even though Ryley made Ashleigh believe that it was no big deal that she left him for Colin, in truth he was really hurt. He loved Ashleigh and showed her a side of him no one else had ever seen. So when she realizes her mistake and wants him back he makes her work for it.But Ryley isn't the only one that wants Ashleigh to pay for her mistake. Camden, Ryley's twin brother, is still smarting from the dirty trick she played on him in A Fighter's Desire and will do just about anything, and I mean anything, to keep her away from Ryley. In A Fighter's Desire we got a glimpse of how screwy Camden is. But I had no idea just how screwed up he really was until we see what he is actually capable of in this book and how far he is willing to go to, and who he is willing to drag down to the dark side with him, to get it. And it seems he has company in that department, because Colin isn't going down without a fight, and he will do just about anything to keep Ashleigh with him.The next book out is Gabriella’s. Paxton’s Promise comes out on December 29th and let me tell you I’ll be waiting for it with bells on. Gabriella is one tough cookie and I’m looking forward to watching Paxton break down her defenses and keeping his promise.
review 2: loved it i was looking forward to this one and it was everything i hoped for love ryley and ashleigh the pair are well suited .camden is a real arse in this one but im so glad that it wasnt one of those books where someone causes trouble an the couple drag it out argueing over the next few chapters in this it gets dealt with straight away and that makes this refreshing no dithering he said she said just great writing and great character i love this series and now im looking forward to paxtons promise less
