She waited a few minutes. Her flashlight’s beam barely cut the deep black night. She couldn’t stay here too much longer, wherever it was, not to wait for a dawn that might be hours off. They’d be here a week at the cabin. She could come back; it hadn’t taken her long to get to the cave. She edged back toward the passage she’d come through.
