review 1: I actually enjoyed this sequel to THE GEOMETRY OF SISTERS more than the first one. But it was the descriptions of Capri that made it so fascinating to me. Though I must admit that I loved the character of Max and his relationship with Lyra. I also was drawn to Rafe and his struggle to get his life back on an even keel. ... morethere. Pell travels to Capri to see her mother, Lyra, for the first time in 10 years to try to reunite with her mother and convince her to come home. Having lost her father to a brain tumor, she desparately wants to have a parent in her and her sister Lucy's lives. Lyra left the girls in their childhood after suffering from severe depression, and the feeling she needed to discover herself. Lyra lives quietly and finds solace in her gardens and the friendships she has found. Her neighbor Max lost his wife to dementia and a fall, which occured while her grandson Rafe was supposed to be keeping an eye on her. Rafe blames himself and tried to dilute his pain with drugs and alcohol, but is now seeking to stay sober. In Rafe Pell finds another hurting soul, but resists falling for him as she is committed to her boyfriend Travis. As all get to know each other, and secrets are revealed, healing, grace and forgiveness bring them to a happy ending. less
