review 1: Prende, bisogna dire. Riesce a variare lo stile della narrazione, a mantenere la suspense per quello che succederà, a mantenere la coerenza dei personaggi, a coltivare buoni sentimenti senza essere stucchevole. Lo stile è talmente semplice e lineare che ci deve essere un grande studio, sotto. Mi è piaciuto abbastanza. Sarebbero tre stelline e mezzo, più che quattro, perché qualcosa manca per piacermi completamente, ma è stata una buona lettura. E poi, l'Irlanda...
review 2: Liked it in some ways, not in others. Liked the plot, but there were themes left unfinished/underdeveloped that left me feeling like there were some loose ends. The ghost mother walking along the cliff seemed like it just disappeared, when I thought it was the beginning of a mysterio... moreus ghost story. The cancer and the woman in New York were too predictable, although were meant to surprise the reader. less
