review 1: It's only fair to give it 2 stars because I did finish it, but it was the worst plot I have read in a LONG time....and it just goes on and on. It all is so contrived, and there is no depth. It all reminded me of soap operas. I didn't like any of the characters or their implausible responses to things that happened. I am so glad to be done. I WAS curious enough to see how it ended because I knew it would be ridiculous...guess what?
review 2: Oh my I was actually pretty much enjoying this rare opportunity to read a little chick lit. And I was actually enjoying it until 3/4 of the way through the book when suddenly it went from being nicely written chick lit to a very bad episode of General Hospital. I honestly could not believe it - it seemed like such an un... moreworthy and unnecessary event to use in order to create some tension and move the story forward. I could have thought of a million different ways to do that other than the way it was done. This still wasn't awful but for those who like their chick lit a little bit on the more cerebral side - this ain't it. less
