review 1: An Heiress For His EmpireLucy MonroeDebutante Madison Archer becomes involved in a scandal that brings about a major change in her life. Her friend Perry Timwater makes claims about their relationship and lifestyle that is purely fictious. She needs to clear up this misunderstanding and soon. After all, how can she be into all the things the press is accusing her of when she is still a virgin? Viktor Beck has been planning to take over Archer International Holdings since he started working there. Included in his plan was marrying Madison Archer. Madison also has a "secret". She volunteers as a teacher's aide and has dreams of opening a school. Viktor has asked Maddie several times to marry him, she has turned him down several times. Can Viktor convince Maddie to marry him... more to help him gain control of AIH? Will Maddie admit to herself how she really feels about Viktor and still realize her own dreams? Read An Heiress For His Empire and find out. This was a great story. I loved Vik's and Maddie's relationship and how it grew throughout the story. Her secondary characters were also interesting. Lucy Monroe's writing is strong and her ability to tell a story keeps the reader looking for more. I can't wait for her next book which will tell the story of Maddie's best friend Romi and Maxwell Black.
review 2: While the storytelling was engaging, the heroine and the preachy plotline was so annoying I couldn't finish.I don't mind a heroine who rebels to get daddy's attention but I felt the author used the rebel aspect to insert a lecture promoting liberal cause. Frankly, I found the entire rebellion unbelievable. The setting is liberal San Francisco. I just couldn't suspend belief that her daddy was a Conservative business guy in that city and that he cared so much about his daughter's lifestyle living in that liberal city.At the half point, I gave up. I no longer cared about the story or the heroine. Too bad as I liked the hero. less
