review 1: I just read this book. It was another Cinderella story poorly written. I felt the story was written in rush. Not to mention that traditional cultural aspects were totally misled. As a person who knows the culture very well, I was not bought into how easily the series of events and the outcome were accepted by Sheikh's parents and the fiancé. Particularly for Tahira, who RUN with another man???? seriously??? This is equal to death sentence for a woman if it ever happens!!!! not to mention for a well known political family.After reading this story, I am not sure if I am going for another Chatsfield story.......
review 2: Honestly I can't say it was a bad book because it wasn't, it was actually quite adorable. The problem I had with it though is it felt like it w... moreas lacking the usual angst/drama that I had come to expect from Lucy Monroe. I mean okay so there was some "drama" like the elevator scene and the fiance fiasco, etc. And Monroe did come close with the morning after scene as well as when the hero, hero's mother and heroine scene but I just didn't feel anything except disappointment after those scenes calmly wrapped up. Now maybe I just enjoy the stereotypical unrealistic Harlequin romance dramas more than I should but that's really what I read them for. The book was a cute read because unlike some of the books I actually felt like the couple was in love by the end, the heroin wasn't a doormat, the hero was a genuinely sweet guy and their dialogue was funny. So really if you're looking for a cute, if somewhat boring read, go for this book but if (like me) you enjoy some pretty dramatic problems then I wouldn't recommend it. less
