review 1: A fun little read, once again reinforcing the parallels between what I read and what's happening in life. This book is about an older woman afflicted with dementia and the "cleaning out" of possessions in preparation for death.. in other words her personal garage sale to end all garage sales. The story line has a few fun twists and turns from her past, including her returning daughter, truths of previous deaths, and a return to her own past. Very enjoyable and vivid use of Texas vernacular.
review 2: Great reading, this chick book almost promotes faith (but not quite). The blurb doesn't begin to give the real flavor of this book, which skips back and forth in point of view and reveals the history of the characters little by little as the story progresses.
... moreThe "garage sale," where the protagonist feels inspired to hold a garage sale and sell ALL of her family heirlooms for almost nothing, is the event around which the rest of the plot pivots. Positive in values and sweet, with many surprises. less

Nice story, but deep, about a lady with Alzheimer's. Very worth the time to read!
