review 1: This was a wonderful book. Jack is the Chief of Police in a small town and is straight. Or is he? Edward is an out and proud gay man traveling through Jack’s small town. When Jack pulls Edward over in his little sport car sparks fly. What I really liked was watching the entire story unfold. The loving grandmother that Edward was kept away from--they formed a strong and loving bond which I loved. The supportive friends that Edward made.Last but by far not least, Jack. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the relationship between Jack and Edward evolve. I loved watching Jack come to terms with who he was and what he wanted. I cheered when he found the strength to go for what his heart desired to make his life happy. Thanks for such a great book, ... moreLynn!
review 2: Edward speeds by Police Chief Jack in small town Silver Lake. Jack has come from nothing and worked hard to get where he is and he doesn't feel the obviously gay Edward will fit into his life. Edward has had a string of relationships end badly, never his choice and just wants to be loved the way his dog, Winston, loves him. I really felt for Edward and teared up quite a few times. Some of this is predictable but the secondary characters are lovely and Winston is awesome. Jane (PS) picked this for me in Flavor of the Month and I'm so glad I read it! Thanks! less
