review 1: I don't get the reviews...all are entitled to their opinion. But..this story waa about a heroine. Very real, passionate, griping, sad, ultimately triumphant! It is about survival and what women had to do to survive; using their sexuality to spy on the enemy! This character was a strong woman, a heroine, a survivor, a friend, lover...omg..loved it! I recommend this book or anyone who is tired of the "fluff" books about women who aren't' real, and are spineless!
review 2: My husband was born and raised in Paris, so I was drawn in by the title of this book. The story actually takes place during the Nazi occupation years of WWII, and I loved how it got me thinking more about the time period. ... morer shop owner, sounded like a dead ringer for my husband's favorite aunt. The only bummer is that the main character, an American girl who grew up on a farm in the midwest, was totally annoying. I didn't care about her love life or her struggles. So it kinda left the book feeling a little "meh" for me. less
