review 1: Chapter 7 so far:This book has been annoying me. The catch phrase is making wise choices in the midst of raw emotions. However I find a lot of her examples and behavior very reactionary. I understand that with kids, life can be busy, stressful and at times chaotic, but I don't think it has to be as chaotic as she makes it sound. While I appreciate her vulnerability and openness in her writing I feel that is she made wiser choices and had better boundaries preemptively, she would not be dealing with such raw emotions.
review 2: Lysa has a way of speaking to my heart. I've read several of her books now and this one was probably the one that touched me the most. It helped me so much, in fact, that I am currently reading it again. I love Lysa's transparency. I lo... moreve the fact that she writes like she must speak. When she talks about the mean email she received from a friend and her first thought was to ask God if she could slap the woman. Tell me we haven't all been there! She doesn't feel the need to go into pages and pages of the need to ask for repentance for feeling that spiteful thought. She gets that God knows it was a spiteful thought that she didn't actually mean. Her stories are real. I walk away from her stories feeling like I'm less alone on my journey to Christ instead of feeling like a hopeless guilty sinner who will never get there. I highly recommend this book. Its a great read! less
