review 1: Alex is the smart girl who always felt awkward. Summer internship at her dads company proves to be an adventure Alex will never forget. First day and she is almost killed until a handsome man with dark ink eyes saves her. Getting the grand tour and now finding out her assignment and guess who her new partner to work with is. None other then her rescuer Ace.Ace looks human but the gorgeous Greek God chiseled type of human. He is faster and stronger. Everyone around Alex starts to notice the protective stare Ace always seems to posses over her. This has all the interns in a tizzy. Relationships with other species is unheard of and considered gross by the masses.I loved this fun cheeky story. I was glued after diving in a bit. I found Ace and Alex's attraction adorable. I als... moreo liked the side story of Alex and her emotional relationships with each of her parents. I can not wait to finish reading this series. I am giving this book 4 out of 5 stars just because it started a little slow.
review 2: 2.5 StarsNice try, but not even remotely believable - would a top secret military base, let alone one run by aliens, really have an intern programme?Would a teenage girl with no experience really be able to fly a fighter plane, shoot missiles and so on? And what is it with teenagers confessing eternal love in YA? I know Alex vaguely freaked about this towards the end, but neither of them had any qualms earlier on. All this 'only one for me, meant to be, love you forever, blah blah blah'... you're, what, seventeen? And you've know each other like two weeks? Christ. Why can't you just date like, I dunno, real people? As you can probably imagine, this eternal love stuff led to a lot of eye-roll/cringe moments. And I do mean a lot. But I still want to read the sequel, so I guess it can't've been all bad. Either that or, you know, I get a bit compulsive about not ditching a series halfway through. Dear me. less
