review 1: this is just so so story. I'm sorry but yeah maybe because there's no such thing as drama, well there's. the abused things and tommy, but.....their own story not so much interesting for me which I'm disappointed because I kinda look forward. but bam! the story is just like thatthey moved on and had another relationship which matter of fact didn't work out, because this is their story not their story with their own relationship and live. which I found wouldn't that great to put the others into their life even myers wasn't explain it much but still, why would she even put their others life there -_- not even giving much change anywaythen they met again, they start their story with tommy helping. well there's that. the end.
review 2: The thing that I liked most ab
... moreout this book was also the thing that I felt took away from it- the story line being staggered across many years. I always want to know what happens in the future of the main character; most story lines I read span a year at most, or more likely just a few months, and I'm always dying to know what happens in the years to come for the characters (all the best characters are real people in my mind, obviously!). With The Final Piece, you get that, as the story starts with Beth in elementary school and ends with her well beyond university. I enjoyed this as you get to know more of her life, but when I finished the book I didn't get that feeling of longing for more and the bit of sadness at it all ending. This confused me as while reading it I really thought I liked it. Then I realized that it was because the story line felt SO rushed. Granted I did read it within a day, so that may have been some of my own doing, but it was largely in part due to the story line taking part over so many years. While I absolutely adored Beth's family, more than in any other story, it all felt underdeveloped. I'd definitely say go ahead and read this- there are amazing characters- but for me it was not a story I thought much about once I finished it. less

I'm in the minority here. It was way too juvenile for my taste and extremely predictable.
