review 1: I am not a shojo reader though I am open to finding some that I could read. At the moment I only read one Shojo series, Library Wars. The topic of voice acting appealed to me in this and decided me to give this book a try. I ended up quite liking it. It was very cute and had a fun storyline. The romance angle was light and humorous and not the main focus. The book actually has a plot which i found enjoyable and I read through the book quickly. All the main characters introduced in this book are likable and I especially like Hime Kino, the main character. Her gravelly voice is well portrayed both in the text and images. A light-hearted volume that gives a good set up for a first volume in a manga series and leaves me interested in the characters and feeling good ab... moreout continuing up with the next volume.
review 2: Hime starts high school at the prestigious Holly Academy where she is enrolled in the voice acting department in hopes of one day becoming a main character in Lovely Blazers like her idol. However, her big problem is that she does not sound cute at all, but she won't give up on her dream.I love the concept of working toward a goal and never giving up. I also like the fact that the main character, Hime is working so hard and is so determined that it only makes it worse yet she still struggles toward her goal which is something that should be admired. This book also made me laugh because even though she is trying it comes out wrong sometimes. I feel that this character is going to be great to watch throughout the series. less
