Glasgow Underworld Trilogy
review 1: The Scottish noir trilogy by Malcolm Mackay reads as a seamless story with three chapters. I highly recommend reading the three in quick succession so a3s to not lose any of the detail from one chapter to the next and to fully appreciate the building tension across the three. Great pace, 360 degree storytelling with sympathetic but unflinching views of the characters. I hadn't appreciated what a gem I had waiting on my shelf and regretted it took so long for me to pick it up to read.
review 2: This sequel was written in the same pithy-multiple-viewpoint-style as its predecessor. A middle-aged hit man returns to work after a hip operation. His first job back poses several problems which are life changing as well as life threatening. The pace and tension remain
... more high throughout, while the plot and characters are well constructed. The reader experiences the work of two hit men from several different points of view. It’s an interesting take on how low-life villains operate with some thought-provoking insights along the way. less

Great stuff. Nothing like a Glasgow gangland novel to make you feel safer in Dalston...

ok but won't seek out the rest of the trilogy.
