review 1: This book is about a very famous movie. It doesn't precisely say that on the jacket - in fact, it leads you to believe that it is a murder mystery. It is a murder book, but if there is a mystery, it is about how things happen, how we see ourselves, and how others see us, and how that might translate to the screen. It hops around in time a lot. And while it was fun recognizing the famous director and the famous movie (they are never named), it felt a little contrived, like the author was trying too hard to make an in-joke.

... morel I was not surprised to learn that this author teaches a creative writing course. This is a descriptive story. Very much had the Alfred Hitchcock style going for it. Parts of it dragged but interesting enough story! less
