review 1: I think charming is the perfect word to describe this short little Christmas romance! I didn't realize until I opened it up that it was a Christmas read, and since I love all things Christmas it was perfect for my dreary April afternoon mood. Just what I needed to refresh my spirit and to get me to swoon and smile, even if just for a moment.Justice Kincaid was a delightful and I have to say it-charming hero. (I want one! ;) I also LOVE the whole chimney sweep thing from Mary Poppins, one of my all time favorite movies. I even have Chim Chim Cher-ee on my ipod. haha I found myself humming that while reading.
review 2: I greatly enjoyed this one! This one had me right from the dedication: For anyone who loves Dick Van Dyke, Charles Dickens and other sundry bits
... moreof Christmas... Oh wait, there is much of Christmas that I really dislike. Hmm. However there are the parts I enjoy. This book covered the good parts of Christmas (aside from the Christmas gifts). It left me feeling that I really really wanted a chance to visit a recreation of a Dickens Christmas village myself. THAT would bring home the Christmas spirit for me since the most memorable holiday memory I've had was reading A Christmas Carol to my kids. This was a sweet, fun romance. And perfectly enjoyable because it seemed very relate-able. How many times have we been on one end of a "Do you really think he likes me?" "Well he has kissed you how many times now? You know you don't usually kiss people you don't like so yeah, I'd say he likes you." "Yes, but do you think he LIKES me likes me or just likes me." I think every girl is amazed to discover that the guy she's in love with could be in love with her. It was very enjoyable to see them both head over heels for each other but afraid to acknowledge to the other how deep it was so fast. Here we are in the audience able to see the whole thing! And, of course, knowing how it would work out but excited to see it happen. One aspect I greatly enjoyed in this was being able to see into Justice's mind and get his thoughts on the relationship. This could have happened a few more times and it wouldn't have been over used. I love getting a peek in the hero's mind. I think it was brilliant that the security group was dressed as chimney sweeps! Perfect! I think I just would have liked to see the Jack the Ripper targeting Baylee instead of Candice. Did Candice fit the description as well as Baylee?? I don't remember ever reading her description. Hmm. And I still wish that the word giggle was used less whenever the girl laughs. The girls always giggle and the guys mumble. Never 'gave a quick laugh', 'gave a tinkling laugh', or 'murmured' 'whispered' 'intoned', or anything like that. Sure wouldn't mind seeing something else instead of giggle or mumble. But since this is my 24th Marcia book you can see it hasn't kept me from reading more. This is one I'd consider adding to my collection the next time I see Marcia at an event. :) less

I love her historical books but her contemporary books are kind of silly (in my opinion)
ebook
This was sweet and simple. Not much to it, but it is a novella.

This was probably my least favorite of hers.
