review 1: I don't know why I liked this book, but I did...in spite of the fact that none of the characters had very redeeming qualities and I disapproved of most of their decisions and there was no real resolution at the end. Maybe it was the part set in Paris and the adorable 3-year-old Caitlin, who seems to be the most easygoing child in the world. And I think, somehow, that Marie was likable because I was rooting for her against all odds.
review 2: I picked up this book thinking it was going to be funny and dark. Dark it is, but maybe because I have a daughter who is a similar age to the little girl in the book, I found it extremely depressing.
