review 1: Tudor Rose describes the life of Elizabeth of York, the daughter of Edward iv and Elizabeth Woodville and mother of Henry viii . She marries Henry Tudor for dynastic reasons and was never in love with him. Henry Tudor is described as a cold miser only interested in making more money and not spending any.The book is very readable although some historical facts are left out. Perkin Warbeck is discussed in detailA knowledge of Tudor history would be advantageous in reading this book.Henry viii might not have become. The psychopath he later became had Elizabeth not died so young.
review 2: I found a blog with a suggested reading order of Philippa Gregory's novels with other supporting material for a comprehensive reading experience of the Plantagenets and the Tudor
... mores. As such, I read this book after Lady of the Rivers, The White / Red Queen and The Kingmaker's Daughter. I absolutely hated this book. After Gregory's style this seems so badly written, childish and the characters come across as just that: characters - not the real people in history that they actually were which Gregory succeeds in doing. I instantly disliked this book and, despite my best efforts to connect with it, disliked it throughout its entirety. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone reading around this time period! less

Interestingly told story of Elizabeth of York. Some different takes on events. Enjoyable reading.
