review 1: This was my first book by Marguerite Labbe and it will not be my last. I liked these guys. I liked the plot , and the not so mystery mystery. Although it did start to drag a bit around 55-60%. Eli and Ash were great with each other. I loved the little to no angst. Made for a lighter read. These two were driving me crazy with their dirty talk for play. I could only imagine the suffering it caused them. Off to read the short after story!
review 2: 3.5 stars. The reason this book didn't rank higher is that I struggled a bit in the details. The characters were likable and they had good chemistry, but there was a lot going on other than their relationship and it made for a disjointed story at times. Between Eli's work stuff, Ash's military friends, Eli's break-in
... more troubles, Ash's class, their emotional issues, secondary characters and their relationships, family issues...it was just a little 'bouncy all over the place' for me. Plus some of it didn't even get solved and some of it wasn't even discussed enough that there didn't seem a reason to put it in. I do see there is another book, so maybe that will work itself out in the second book. But in any case, these things sort of prevented me from getting emotionally vested in the romance, and that's my favorite part of love stories! less
