review 1: 4.5 Stars. I loved this one. There was a great feel and likability to the main characters, Eli and Ash. In some ways they might seem like an opposites attract story, but really, they had a lot more in common than the initial setup suggests. With Eli being from a military family, he understood Ash much more than you'd initially think he would. Ash is continually surprised by Eli but almost always in a good way. They have a shared love of baseball that allows them to connect as well. The buildup between the two is great, there was an actual relationship that was built between the two of them and it made them finally coming together all the better. Their chemistry is amazing, the sexual tension and all the teasing is great. The sex scenes are really hot but they really add to... more the book, they don't take away and become what the book is about. The secondary characters and storylines really added to the story as well. A great read, much better than I was thinking it would be. It was a fun read most times, endearing and heartfelt at others. Eli and Ash are now one of my favorite couples.
review 2: I really enjoyed this well-written romance between Eli, a young college professor, and Ash, the Marine who takes his class as part of a move back to civilian life. These guys were well portrayed in their similarities and differences, both likeable men, and very hot together. The relationship progressed believably slowly on an emotional level, the plot was interesting but not melodramatic. The implications of their quasi-forbidden relationship between teacher and student varied a bit in the climax of the story, but the resolution was fairly satisfying. less
