review 1: So much more is discovered and revealed in this second book, but it's hard not to miss and wonder what is happening on Ixion as Naif returns to Grave. Character dynamics grow and shift and change in this book, they're still really engaging and by the end of the book you wonder how the story can possibly be resolved. The mood and tone of this book are different and a little more conventionally 'questy' than the first book, but this makes sense as the change in setting *should* have a significant difference in the feel, and I suspect it is intended by the author that we are left hungry and wanting to return to Ixion.
review 2: I really enjoyed this book, but I thought book one, Burn Bright, was slightly better, only because this book was so intense. Naif spends m
... moreost of her time on the run in this book, with heaps of close calls. I was on the edge of my seat, heart racing, holding my breath the whole time; it was as if I was the one on the run.Naif and Markes have returned to Grave to find out what the connection is between the Ripers and the Elders, so we get to see more of this strict society. They only have two days to find the answers they seek, and they do. Lots of shocking secrets are revealed in this book which helps you to understand what is really going on while leaving you desperate to know what Raif is going to do with the information in the third and final book.As with book 1, there is a sprinkling of romance throughout but the romance is not the main focus of this book. Naif has feelings for Markes but she is also bonded to Lenoir, which means she can’t help having feelings for him too. I actually really like Lenoir and we mainly get to see him through the bond in this book, but there is a couple of chapters from his point of view so we can see what is going on back on the island as well.I didn’t liked Markes after this book and I am hoping that Naif doesn’t end up with him.We are introduced to some great characters in this book. I really loved Liam and Jarrold. Both went out of their way to help Raif, and without either of them she would never have made it very far.Angel Arias is a dark, suspenseful and thrilling tale which you won’t want to put down once you start reading. A unique dystopian that is a stand out in its genre. I highly recommend it. less

This was my least favorite book in the series, but it was still very good. Very close to a four.

I'm so disappointed, I can't even tell.
