review 1: As a baseball fan I always enjoy the autobiographical narratives that come along. Rivera's was especaily interesting as I had no knowledge of his deep faith. I respected him a lot before and even more after reading his story. He doesn't wear his faith on his sleeves like so many athletes do, yet he definitely has a profound faith focus and commitment that resonates. He will be a person whose story continues to grow as he lives out his life.
review 2: Some sports autobiographies are really good and some are average. I'd put this in the average category. Mariano Rivera is one of my all time favorite players. The book is an inspiring account of how Rivera came from nothing growing up in Panama to becoming the greatest closer in MLB history. Rivera is deeply re
... moreligious and that is a major theme of the book and includes some interesting accounts tied to his illustrious career. Much of the book, however, is just a recount of season and results. It was interesting to relive some of those moments if only for the fact that a few of those accounts included tidbits about Rivera's relationship with teammates, staffers, or others. My favorite was an account of Rivera running into Steinbrenner in the training room during a World Series game and the Boss offering to get Rivera a hot dog. Good book and easy read - read it in two days. less

Disappointed...expected more about his faith...too much play by play. :(
