review 1: I found myself relating to the love troubles of all three main characters, which just goes to show how very universal love troubles are. It's a reminder of the importance of communication, warmth, and not treating each other like roommates in a marriage (or any relationship). The book is also a great reminder of how important female friendships are to maintain while trying to maintain a marriage, children, a job, a feeling of self...the struggle every woman in these harried times faces. The story is engaging enough, without being overly chick lit-annoying.
review 2: I liked this one; it's a good chick lit story, complete with interesting twists about the three characters' relationships. It's a fast light read, which was pretty much what I was in the mood for
... more after just finishing a book I didn't care for at all and also currently listening to Uncle Tom's Cabin on audio. I found the characters and their marital struggles interesting and I found I cared what happened to each one. I also got a chuckle out of the 70s music references. I like the 70s music, and my other half always refers to it as "music to slit your wrists by" (and then he feels compelled to go into a rendition of a Bread song or "Alone Again Naturally" by Gilbert O'Sullivan to make his point) because the lyrics are often depressing. I got a huge kick out of one of the characters in the book making the same observation! less

The book was well written but slow. Overall I did not like the storyline.
