review 1: It would be an interesting experience to have an authors voice in your head (like Austen's). I liked the book towards the end when I realised how it it would tie together and all her life lessons but I found my self looking at the progress bar ever so often and wondering how the story was going to end when it didn't seem to be going anywhere. it just seemed like one flashback and then a time jump after another. I did like the main character though despite all that. She seems realistic trying to find her way through all the failed boyfriends.
review 2: I don’t think I read the book blurb for this novel carefully enough. I thought the story was “young adult” in content. I was wrong. A story about a highschool girl who “hears” the voice of Jane A
... moreusten in her head giving wise counsel as she matures into a college student. Instead it is the retrospective view of a 30 something recounting her unsuccessful dating and sexual life from adolescence through to her present situation when she predictably finds her Mr. Darcy.I found the story much more explicit in content than I usually read but I guess I did finish the story! I hate not knowing exactly how the characters end happily ever after. I love reading all things Jane Austen but I didn’t really find that Marilyn Brant created an authentic Jane. I don’t think anyone from the Regency period could tolerate modern dating life but especially not Jane Austen who was such a romantic and never married! less

Interesting premise and a fun read. I especially like the author interview at the end!
