review 1: Sugar's Twice as Sweet is a cute book about northern event planner Josephina and pro golfer Brett. She has just been dumped by her fiancee for being too flighty and Brett has had a sex tape surface after 2 years. They both start over in Sugar, Georgia, Brett's and Joie's aunt hometown. Their chemistry is instantaneous, and they become friends, then lovers. The book started off really well, the set up for the romance was well written. As the story continued, it became harder to follow and more full of stereotypes. I didn't really like Brett's granny and her friends, but did like his brother and niece. Overall, the book was cute, but not really my cup of tea.
review 2: I loved this book... Josephina "Joie" and Brett were wonderful to get to know. While battling... more The Sunday School mafia (a group of old ladies that included Brett's own grandma) and a town that didn't have the guts to stand up to the Sunday School mafia who did not approve of Joie because 1. she was a damn yankee, 2. she was renovating her aunt's house into an inn. Joie shortly shows them the stuff she's made of because she refused to be cowed by the ladies and falls back in love with her childhood sweetheart Brett because Brett refused to give up on them after having lost her the first time and also I loved seeing Brett stand up to his grandmother. I loved getting to know the town of Sugar and can't wait for more stories to come! I wonder if the ladies will get in trouble again. I'm sure they will. I see a few people I want to get to know more. :) less
