review 1: The premises of this book are quite ridiculous and far-fetched. Lexi, prom queen, happily married, renowned cook, comes back to home with a failed marriage and on the verge of bankruptcy. Marco, who is both her and her ex-husband best friend is there to witness her downfall. He is a womanizer, and hot, and caring, and…did I mentioned him being scorching hot?I always complain when a romance is too obvious. In this case, while it is obvious for the readers how will it end, H/h do not know. I believe that the key of a romance is when the story is not told, when it is showed. Here you get to experience through their eyes their relationship, to see how it develops and grows, and to feel their sky-rocking attraction. And it is all enveloped in light-hearted and hilarious situa... moretions. There’s nothing revealing or enlightening, but it is a story very well rounded, set in a quaint village, full of endearing secondary characters. A pleasure to read.Highly recommended for a summer reading.
review 2: This is a 3.5-4 Stars I'm torn lol. This book was way better then the first in the series. The subtle humor was great. Marc voice past attraction often and Lexie hardly noticed. I did notice a trend with the author though with the miscommunications between the two that I feel like she should write YA instead of romance because she adds allot of youthful drama. I also feel bad for Lexie, again this author has a ability of making the women in her books always sad or almost pathetic. I don't understand the pore communication. It is clear that Marc is all about. I love the cream puff & sugar nicknames. Love how much the dog (Wingman) loves Lexie. It's just wonderful, especially when Marc was jealous so Wingman pouting right along side him instead of going right to Lexie. I will note again the subtle humor made many parts of this book wonderful. I loved the ending with the way Marc fixed everything. I have to say I don't like lose ends and like the last book this just ended. Totally in a good way but I would have liked to see Jeff's world blow up I front if him. I have always been a huge fan if epilogue. less
