The back story is interesting, but as many others have pointed out, it's almost like Bowden felt that Raymond Berry needed more coverage for the fact that great players like him were ultimately in the shadow of people like Johnny Unitas, who Berry played with on those great Colt teams. I never entirely bought his premise that this was the most important NFL game ever and changed the game forever. Also, I felt like some of the game descriptions were too dense.Overall, though, the characterizations of some of the players was well-done and the ending, explaining the fates of the main characters, was surprisingly emotional.I like to read a football book this time of year and this one was ok. less
