review 1: I really wanted to like this. In fact, for the first two parts, I loved it! But then my rating loses three stars for, as the story progresses, Eve remains childlike and passionate while Adam is the pensive, stoic one. And then there was this little gem:"If he should beat me and abuse me, I should go on loving him. I know it. It is a matter of sex, I think."I could have passed this quote off as Eve's individual personality; however, there is no way to write an Adam and Eve story that does not in some way amount to the generalization of men and women. Bread rolls, Twain, not gender roles.
review 2: This book was published in 1906, but it could easily have been written 100 years later - it hasn't aged. It's small - I mean really small - 110 small pages long, and 5
... more5 of those pages are illustrations. But you don't buy books based on the number of words you are getting, but the thoughts it leaves you with. I paid less than the price of a pint for this book, it took about as long to read as a pint takes to drink, but it is well written and thought provoking. I thoroughly recommend it. less

Dated in most of its perspectives about women, but also very charming. As expected of Twain.

I couldn't complete reading it. It's disrespectful of our mother, Eve.

I truly enjoyed and I highly recommend reading or listening too!

Cute, but a bit corny.
