review 1: I think the thing I liked most about this book.. is that the author truly seems to know how our politicians would actually act in the event of a killer virus. The breakdown of society.. would probably very much mimic what occurs in the novel. That being said... let us all hope.. that this will always be a tale of fiction.. and not our reality. I did enjoy that the characters go to the biodome to survive! That was a lovely twist! Though, lasers to fry unwanted?? YIPES! lol
review 2: Taeya fights her way to safety in a world devastated by the Korean flu. The outlines of this story were the tried-and-true elements of any survival plot, which is great because the details were crap. The crap details included horrible dialogue and exposition, casual racism (yes, you
... morecan write racist characters without writing a racist book, but that was not accomplished successfully here), a weird pacing where I kept missing things (like characters dying!), factual inaccuracies (including my pet peeve of misrepresenting psychopharm), and a very oddly wrapped up ending. But some small props for a diverse cast and a story that pretty much moved along. less

Well this book is a three star only because it wasn't that suspenseful that grabbed my attention.

A quick, satisfying read about post-apocalyptic America. Action and romance handled well.
