review 1: I have just recently found Marta Perry's novels. I read Lydia's Hope, which is the first in The Lost Sisters of Pleasant Valley series and wanted to read Susanna's Dream the second in the series. I am glad I did.Lydia, Susanna and Chloe are grown when they find out they are sisters. When their Amish parents are killed in an accident on there way to a wedding, their daughters are 5, 2 and a few months old. They are each raised by different people and never told they had sisters. The stories center around how they meet then learn to love and depend on each other. Ms Perry brings her characters to life and writes interesting stories that have kept me entertained through two books. I look forward to reading more of her stories.
review 2: Although a slow start, Perr... morey's novel tells the struggle that many can relate to - being shunned for someone more pretty, more with it, more 'valuable.' While not being overwhelmingly religious, it still had just the right amount of spark with the clean humor and smiles that isn't often found in literature today. Very well written, and an enjoying read! I'm definitely headed out to get more of her works in the future. I got this book from the first reads program, and it was well-worth it! less
